I work with clients who maybe struggling with anxiety/depression/trauma related to their relationships.
Many people reach out for therapy during one of the hardest seasons of their lives: relationships possibly ending, divorce or parenting through conflict and uncertainty. You may feel emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, angry, grieving, stuck or like you're carrying the weight of everyone else while trying to hold yourself together. Whether you're navigating the end of a relationship, struggling with the question of how did I even get here, co-parenting challenges or trying to protect your children while managing your own pain, you do not have to go through this alone.

We’re often told to “be kinder to ourselves,” “ worry less,” or “communicate better
Today, there’s no shortage of information with self-help books, reels, even ChatGPT offering guidance on managing anxiety, understanding attachment, healing from childhood experiences, or setting boundaries. But having more information can make it even more discouraging when things don’t shift.

Hello ! I’m Hannah with Spark Your Growth. My work is focused on helping people heal trauma, understand how the brain works & learn to navigate their emotions. For nearly a decade I have seen clients build self-confidence, cope with life’s stressors, create stronger relationships, regulate stress, overcome burnout and achieve a life they want to live. Given that each person is unique, I understand there is no one-size fits all when it comes to therapy. I use a combination of process-oriented, somatic & cognitive therapies to create an approach that will meet each individual's needs & interests.

You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, or feelings of inadequacy.
I work with adults, caregivers, seniors, and couples facing life transitions, caregiving responsibilities, and relational stress. My perspective is shaped by years supporting families as a teacher and special education professional, and by caring for my mother with Alzheimer’s disease. As a counselling student, I offer compassionate, non-judgmental support.

I work with adults who are struggling with ADHD, anxiety, overwhelm, and women's mental health concerns.
You've always managed. Pushed through. Found workarounds. But somewhere in your 30s and 40s, everything got harder, the brain fog, the overwhelm, the feeling that you're falling apart just when life expects the most from you. Perimenopause is often the moment ADHD finally shows its face in women, or makes an already difficult condition nearly unmanageable. You're not losing your mind. You're not weak. You're dealing with something real that most providers don't understand, let alone treat.

I enjoy supporting clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief and trauma.
We all aim for happiness. We want meaningful relationships, a work/life balance, feeling connected to that special someone, content children and so on. But, on this journey called life, we know there are ups and downs. Sometimes the downs can be so powerful they cause us to feel stuck and helpless. Let me help you find your happiness again.

I have experience working with individuals in the areas of depression, anxiety, anger, parenting, stress management, trauma, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and self-esteem.
I generally work from a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy approach, however, I believe it is important to remain client-centred and adapt from other treatment modalities when necessary i.e. Mindfulness, Solution Focused etc. I am currently booking virtual and in person counselling sessions.

We will then begin to dive deeper into your thought and emotional structures to help relieve symptoms gradually, while assisting you in regulating any arising anxiety and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with more than ten years of experience supporting individuals with their mental wellness. I believe that clients are the experts of their own lives and at times become stuck with internal conflict, ways of being, or are in situations that are not conducive to growth. I believe that everyone is on their own spiritual journey and that for some, participating in therapy can encourage deeper understanding and help to unearth meaning in their life. I enjoy helping clients work to identify the source of thoughts, feelings and concerns with the goal of arriving at a place of understanding and acceptance.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
