Maybe you're juggling ADHD traits, anxiety, burnout, or the emotional rollercoaster that comes with hormones and life transitions.
Does any of this sound familiar? You can't turn your brain off. It’s always planning, worrying, or replaying conversations. You want to be productive and calm, but you’re stuck between burnout and avoidance. You're trying so hard to show up for everyone. Some days you just want someone to say, “It makes sense you're struggling. Let’s figure this out together.”

Are you struggling in this crazy world? Do you feel anxious, sad, frustrated, angry, overwhelmed, and/or tired of it all? Do you feel lost and alone, that no one understands you, that you are fighting your struggles alone? Is it difficult to muster the motivation and energy to do things that you once enjoyed? Are you constantly embroiled in conflict with others? Do you wish things were better, that you felt better, that the pain, sadness, and conflict would go away and be replaced with happiness, peace, contentment, and joy?

Whether the goal is to help youth with ADHD (or ADHD characteristics), anxiety, emotional regulation, or trauma, I can help both young people and their families navigate their unique pathways to wellbeing and good mental health.
Therapy does not always need to be talk therapy - so much can be learned through the therapeutic use of play! With a client-centered approach, I work with clients to provide a safe space to explore challenges and match coping strategies to the style of the client. Not every strategy works for every person, and that's okay... we'll find what's best for them.

ADHD coping and education are my passions.
Feeling the feelings is hard. Building self-esteem and confidence can feel impossible. Not sleeping, anxiety, stress, and eating too little or too much are all issues that challenge us. Learning how to shift perspective and process traumatic life events. All these things show up, and we each feel them differently. Wanting to be your best self is a good life goal! Everyone is welcome. No judgement.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
