Feeling the feelings is hard. Building self-esteem and confidence can feel impossible. Not sleeping, anxiety, stress, and eating too little or too much are all issues that challenge us. How can we start? Learning how to shift perspective and process traumatic life events. All these things show up, and we each feel them differently. What would change feel like? Wanting to be your best self and knowing it's ok to not always be at your best. Everyone is welcome.

Many of the people I work with are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long. They may be struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, trauma, relationship challenges, ADHD, life transitions, or the pressures of high performance. Often, they've spent years pushing through difficulties on their own and are looking for practical support, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful change. Together, we work to understand the patterns keeping them stuck and build the skills needed to move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and balance.

I am interested in working with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, anger, shame and motivation. I feel psychotherapy is a space to reflect on the meaning of your experiences and emotions and use them to guide your actions in life. I see therapy sessions as intense conversations that help clients create a life that integrates past and present experience to inform a way of going forward that feels true, inspiring and achievable.

You've always managed. Pushed through. Found workarounds. But somewhere in your 30s and 40s, everything got harder, the brain fog, the overwhelm, the feeling that you're falling apart just when life expects the most from you. Perimenopause is often the moment ADHD finally shows its face in women, or makes an already difficult condition nearly unmanageable. You're not losing your mind. You're not weak. You're dealing with something real that most providers don't understand, let alone treat.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
