I specialize in working with teens and adults who are experiencing symptoms related to a history of trauma, and with families in the perinatal period . I am skilled in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, PTSD and complex trauma, relational issues, school and workplace issues and general distress. I also have experience in supporting teens and young adults during times of change, stress and family transition, including separation, adoption and involvement with FACS. In addition, I have specific specializations in maternal mental health, breastfeeding and infant sleep.
I practice an integrative, client-centered, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approach to therapy, primarily combining elements of feminist, narrative, and solution-focused therapies. I also use tools and techniques found in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness based therapies.
Above all else, my aim is to provide you with a safe, secure environment in which we can work together to reach your counselling goals. I believe in building a strong supportive relationship based on respect, appreciation and understanding. You are the expert of your life and I am here to collaborate with you to find positive growth and change.
