I have eight years of experience working with individuals with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, binge eating disorder (BED) and emotional/compulsive over eating. I support individuals through one-on-one and group counselling. I work in collaboration with individuals and their support team in order create a holistic treatment plan that is well suited for their needs.

I offer an eclectic strength-based approach in my practice, drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches depending on the unique needs of those I am working with. This includes: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness practice and Motivational Interviewing.

I continue to seek ongoing training and education. I am a Qualified Teacher in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) (U. of Massachusetts Medical School) and Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) (Center for Mindful Eating, NH). I am also a teacher-in-training in Mindfulness Self-Compassion (MSC) (U. of San Diego Medical School).

Mindful Self Compassion (MSC)

Mindful Self Compassion is an 8 week plus 1 day retreat program that aims to support individuals in cultivating greater wellbeing and resilience amidst the ups and downs that life presents us. You will learn a variety of techniques to deepen the wisdom to meet your experience as it actually is, rather than through the lens of past experience or future fears that often lead to unskilful reactive behaviour. You will also learn techniques to: meet difficulty with kindness and understanding, befriend your flaws and inner critic, transform shame through compassion, and foster hope for wellbeing toward yourself and others.
