About
I support adults and children in working through challenging emotions, behaviours, or traumatic events. I have a strong appreciation for the courage it takes to attend therapy, and I make it a priority to provide as safe an experience as possible. I believe that when people feel safe they can then begin to address and change problematic patterns of behaviour with the support of the therapist.
I have extensive training and experience in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which is particularly effective in processing trauma and other emotional stressors. I also have training in Hakomi, a body/mind therapy involving a combination of Western psycho-therapeutic approaches and Eastern mindfulness practices.
I have extensive training in play therapy, offering children a way to reveal unspoken experiences, feelings, self-perceptions, hopes, and needs. In addition, I provide parent-child play therapy. This approach supports parents in applying the principles of play therapy with their child, which results in a strengthening of the bond between parent and child.
