My name is Michelle Nelson and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#3093) and a Registered Nurse. A member in good standing with both the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals. A Master's degree in Counselling Psychology was obtained from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University College of the Cariboo. My work experience has encompassed psychiatry, a medical detox center and Mental Health. I provide both skype and phone counselling sessions if you do not live in the South Okanagan area.
In the last 16 years I have worked in private practice. I have had good success with clients resolving issues such as: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, low self-esteem, addictions, life transitions and generalized adolescent issues.
I counsel my client's to achieve positive self-esteem & self-confidence to have freedom from fear and self-limiting beliefs. I also counsel women in all reproductive phases- pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and postpartum which includes; concerns related to fertility, anxiety, traumatic birth experiences, Postpartum Depression and perinatal loss.
