“Healing is a journey, not a destination.” Stepping into therapy requires courage. Choosing to pause, reflect, and explore the parts of ourselves that feel heavy or uncertain is rarely a straight path. It is often layered, winding, and deeply personal. I honour the bravery it takes to begin.I approach therapy from a collaborative and client-centred lens, creating a space that feels calm, grounded, and genuinely non-judgmental. I believe meaningful work happens when clients feel safe enough to show up as they are without pressure to perform, explain, or have everything figured out.

Somewhere along the way, many of us learn to shrink ourselves to stay loved, accepted, or safe. If that sounds familiar, you might be carrying childhood trauma, faith-based trauma, or the weight of navigating your identity within your culture, your family, or the LGBTQ2IA+ community. You might be neurodivergent and still figuring out what that means for how you move through the world. I work with adolescents and adults facing these experiences, including depression, C-PTSD, family dysfunction, and relationship challenges, and I bring culturally responsive care that honours where you come from.

15 years of counselling! Most people who reach out for therapy are not lacking intelligence, insight, or motivation. In fact, many have spent years reading books, listening to podcasts, talking with friends, or trying to figure things out on their own. Yet they still find themselves repeating the same patterns, having the same arguments, feeling stuck in the same fears, or struggling with the same emotional reactions.
Therapy can help bridge the gap between knowing and changing.

You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many of the people I work with are navigating something quieter but just as heavy: a transition they did not expect, a pattern they cannot seem to break, a version of themselves they are trying to grow into. I work with children, adolescents, and adults across all stages of life. Whether a child building confidence, a teen finding their footing socially, or an adult moving through change and uncertainty, I meet each person where they are and build from there.

Hello! My name is Katherine, and I’m an LCT here in Fredericton at Prism Counselling. I love that every person I get to know has a unique story. We all have quirks and little markers of individuality that make us exactly who we are. Above all, I really pride myself on making sure that you feel like you’re part of a genuine, human to human connection. In a world full of technology and parasocial relationships, it’s nice to be able to sit down with someone and have an authentic conversation, with unrehearsed responses. When given the space, therapy can make room to untangle the parts of your life that feel complicated or lackluster.
