Sessions may include parts work/inner child work using EFIT ( Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems), coping skills to help you regulate emotions and show up the way you want in difficult situations, or EMDR to reprocess trauma.
Do you ever feel like you're not good enough, striving to be perfect, overwhelmed by the fear of what others think of you? The constant pressure to meet expectations can leave you feeling stuck, disconnected from your true self, and trapped in patterns of anxiety and panic that hold you back from living fully. If you're ready to break free from these limiting beliefs, fears, and insecurities, I’m here to help. As an EMDR-trained, trauma-informed therapist, I'll invite you to look to the past, bring hope and healing to moments of brokenness, and move forward towards the life you want.

I am passionate about working with client's struggling with processing childhood experiences, especially those who have felt misunderstood or alone in their pain and are interested in understanding relational patterns.

I'm a trauma informed therapist borrowing from Emotional Focused ( EFT) , Inner Child (IFS), Attachment, Mindfulness & mind body practices to bring healing and calm in my sessions.
I understand the pain, the grief, and the overwhelm you may feel. Like you, I’ve faced loss, shame, and challenges—losing a parent, struggling with my body, and raising children in a chaotic world. I found healing by reconnecting with nature and the healing power of animals, and I invite you into that same peaceful space. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Together, we’ll create a safe space for you to process past wounds, reconnect with your body and emotions, and move toward a life of peace, healing, and self-acceptance.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Emotional Focused Therapy ( EFT), Humanistic Approaches, Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Inner Child work, Play-based therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and mindfulness;
I have a passion for working with adolescents and teens; providing a safe and compassionate space where their voices can be heard, respected, and validated. I appreciate and value a collaborative approach with families and support systems, while also working to honor the autonomy of my youth clients. In my work with adults, I like to help bring focus to those past experiences and relationships that likely have shaped and influenced the ways they respond to current life stressors. We do this through inner child and parts work.

My approach is an integration of Bioenergetic Analysis and Emotionally Focused Therapy, both of which have a strong base in childhood attachment theory and view emotional processing as critical to healing.
Bioenergetics combines traditional talk therapy with a body-oriented approach; it incorporates movement to help with grounding, setting healthy boundaries, and expressing emotions. You can expect to be offered the opportunity to engage in somatic (body-based) interventions and in imagined encounters with another part of the self or with significant others.

Through Imago and Emotionally Focused Therapy, I help you to discover what your relationship has to teach you about your own inner healing.
I am here to walk with you on your journey as I have walked on my own. I recently moved "back home" to New Brunswick, after practicing in Pittsburgh for over 35 years. Teaching others to love themselves and one another is my passion. I support you to mine the gold you carry deep inside yourself, releasing shame, isolation and the sense of “not being enough” that we all so often feel.

I utilize modalities such as Emotional Focused Therapy ( EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care in a culturally sensitive manner.
You have told yourself that you “should” be able to stay focused, organized, follow a regimen routine, and manage your emotions well yet you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated and stressed. Your procrastination and impulsivity are negatively impacting your workplace productivity, marriage/relationships, and self-care. You feel helpless, exhausted and defeated trying to manage your symptoms alone. You now wonder if it's time to seek professional help for your ADHD. Whether you've just received an ADHD diagnosis or have been navigating it for years, I offer a supportive environment to address your unique needs.

Emotionally Focused Counsellors

Who is emotionally focused therapy for?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?

People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?

Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?

EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
