Mental health challenges can present themselves through anxiety, depression, numbness, overwhelm, burnout, exhaustion, grief, angry outbursts, sleep challenges, or other psychological and physical symptoms. Although we might feel better temporarily through various coping mechanisms that help manage our symptoms, it is necessary to address the root cause of the issue to experience true healing. We will work together to target the root cause of your struggles so that you can find peace and balance within your life, while also engaging in evidence based coping tools to better manage your day-to-day mental health during this process.
I take an integrative neuroscience-based approach that considers attachment, emotions, habits, relationships, lifestyle, culture, and context, and include lots of psycho-education so you understand how the process of therapy actually works. As a BIPOC therapist, I understand the role of culture and have a special interest in working with people of colour.
As my client you can expect directness, transparency, practicality, and warmth, alongside some well-placed humour. I will meet you where you are with kindness and without judgement, but I will also push you a little past your comfort zone so that you are getting what you need out of therapy. I welcome you to reach out for a free consultation to learn more.
