Today, navigating day-to-day life has never been more challenging. Have you felt unable to live your authentic self? Knowing it is time for a change but unable to allow yourself to ask for help? For many experiencing gender-identity issues can feel especially anxiety provoking. I aim to help those struggling with understanding themselves.

You are struggling to adjust to parenthood, you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious and unsure. Maybe you have experienced a loss or fertility struggles, causing you to feel like giving up hope. You may find yourself quick to anger and lash out in ways you never imagined. Or perhaps your relationship is changing and you and your partner are no longer on the same page. You might feel overwhelmed with the mental load of parenting. Or experiencing stress and anxiety transitioning back to work after leave. Whether you are pregnant, postpartum or experienced parents, it can be difficult to manage the never ending demands and conflicts.

My ideal client is motivated to change but needs help with how exactly to do that. They have a curiosity about them. They are interested in exploring what led them where they are in life. They might want better emotional regulation, help sorting out painful memories, healing from trauma, help finding direction and passion in life, help with communication or connecting in their relationships, or something else entirely. They want to talk to someone about what has happened to them so that they can move to a healthier place in life. I love working with couples, entrepreneurs, pastors, veterans, and many others.

I offer counselling to people that are highly sensitive and highly empathic. Many of my clients are intuitive and seem to know things and see things that others aren't aware of. This often leaves them feeling out of place, isolated, and unsure if they can trust themselves. A common issue is being in relationships where you over give but are told you are not doing enough. This can lead to overthinking, overanalyzing, anxiety, depression, and low-self esteem. You might know what you want to do, what you want to say but get stuck because of the worry of hurting the other person's feelings.

If you don’t know exactly what you’re feeling or what you need, that's ok, we can figure that out together. Life can feel overwhelming, disorienting, and heavy, whether you're mourning a loved one, a relationship, a version of yourself, or navigating an unexpected change. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space and my work is backed by both professional training and lived experience. I believe healing happens through connection, and together, we can slow things down, make sense of what you’re carrying, honour what has been lost, and explore ways to cope, rebuild, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you.

Many times we find ourselves "stuck in a rut" not knowing how to address our challenges. It looks like we are separated from our goals and we are not sure how to move forward. Seeing a psychotherapist is like the process of crossing the bridge to freedom from "here" to "where you want/need to be". In our practice, we use a holistic treatment approach consisting of: psychotherapy , lifestyle management strategies (sleep, nutrition, physical exercise), building support and at client's request spiritual/ faith-based practice(s).

I understand that most likely you have been trying your best and pretending that life is OKAY, but now the heaviness of putting on a brave face is getting you down. You have tried a few things ( reading books, maybe attending therapy) but you find yourself repeating the same old habits of ignoring and pushing down your feelings. Your unresolved TRAUMA is making all your decisions right now. Most likely, most of the time, your trauma leaves you feeling quite unsafe in your body ( panic attacks, low mood, etc). You DO NOT want to feel like this anymore but you are also a little nervous about whether therapy can "really work"?

My ideal client is a person that wants change in their life but is unsure of what path to choose. I do not mind what the issues are they are currently dealing with as long as the person is able to identify choices they would like for themselves so together we can sort out where they wish to head on their journey and why. I am not here to judge the choice or decide because I know that each person is the expert in their lives and knows best what they truly want. I am just here to walk the path with you because we all need the company.

If you feel out of control of your feelings, I'm here to help! I am a queer, neurodivergent therapist, and I bring a unique combination of biology-based and intuitive practices to my work. I am drawn to the deep work of psychotherapy, that goes beyond listening and coping skills, into the root of issues to resolve them. I support people who are struggling in their relationships, who want to not just manage, but understand and resolve their feelings, and those who want more fulfillment out of life. I work particularly in areas like ADHD, anxiety, sex therapy, relationships and supporting neurodivergence.

Accepting New Clients! You’re smart and capable.. but still feel anxious, stuck, and behind. Maybe you overthink everything you say, second-guess every decision, or feel stressed in situations that “shouldn’t” be stressful. Underneath it all is a constant fear that you’re not good enough, and it’s exhausting. You might know what you should be doing, but can’t get yourself to do it then you beat yourself up and spiral. If self-doubt, perfectionism, anxiety, lack of motivation or past experiences are keeping you stuck, therapy can help you understand why and start feeling more confident, calm, and grounded.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
