Wendy combines her past training and work experiences as a registered nurse and clinical social worker with psychotherapy. The individuals and families that I support, experience feelings of overwhelm and find themselves ‘stuck’ in patterns or strategies that hinder their well being. Avoidance, anger outbursts, intense worrying, controlling tendencies, substance use, and disconnecting from ourselves and the people we care for, are just some of the strategies we use to cope with life’s stress. We can become deeply stuck in these patterns even at the expense of our own well-being, and/or inter-personal relationships. Luckily, our brains and bodies are capable of great change. Restoring ourselves to a more optimal way of being, is possible.
