I specialize in the treatment of PTSD and other trauma-base disorders. Everyday, I see the devastating effects that PTSD has on people: hypervigilance, panic, insomnia, nightmares and flashbacks. Many also struggle with uncontrollable anger, isolation, suicidal thoughts, and low self-worth. PTSD may have led you to lose your employment, friends and family. It may have led you to engage in alcohol and drug abuse to escape your suffering and you may be burdened with a long list of medications to take. People do not realize how PTSD also wrecks havoc on their physical health. Many are discouraged by long and costly therapy.
Reconsolidation Therapy (TM) removes the high emotional intensity associated to traumatic memories. The treatment is a combination of talk therapy done under the influence of a blood pressure lowering medication that blocks re-storage of strong negative emotions. I treat remaining symptoms (if any) using mindfulness and equine assisted therapy.
Reconsolidation Therapy (TM) is short (6 treatments) and effective (70% success). It removes the emotional suffering from a traumatic memory, not the memory itself. Mindfulness-Based Equine Assisted Therapy (equine-ati.com) is my second line of treatment for residual difficulties that occasionally linger, as sometimes seen in complex developmental trauma.
