"If you want to speak to someone who won't judge, really listens, and can help you find your best self, I would love to hear from you. Anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, anger, or distress, the first priority is finding a therapist you feel safe with. We begin by exploring the issues and understanding the challenges, but the real work is learning to be gentle with ourselves as we acknowledge the need for a shift and begin to implement new practices. If you have had a traumatic experience, try to seek support within 3 months. It is never too late. EMDR can help immensely with recent incident and chronic shame traumas."

Of particular interest to me (and my specialized training) is to go beyond only treating the presenting symptoms and to discover and address what has caused them to occur. Both in my work experience and in my training I have learned that symptoms typically diminish using various forms of psychotherapy. Mood Disorders (Seasonal Affective, Post-Partum) Counsellors
Mood Disorder is a clinical term given to a group of diagnoses in the DSM IV guide where an imbalance in someone's mood (e.g. hyper or depressed) is the main underlying feature of their condition. Mood Disorder may also be referred to as Mood Affective Disorder. Two types of mood disorders (or mood affective disorders) are broadly recognized; there are depressive disorders, such as major depressive disorder (MDD), clinical depression or major depression. And bipolar disorder (BD), which used to be known as manic depression and is characterized by periods of mania or hypomania, interlaced with depressive episodes.

Seasonal Affective Mood Disorder or Seasonal Mood Disorder (SAD) is generally included within the former type/group as it's not characterized by hyper or manic moods.
