About
Are you overwhelmed by anxiety and depression? Are you struggling to manage your emotions and symptoms? Maybe your struggle is impacting your relationships, and taking away your hope and objectives. You may know that you are not alone in your suffering. If you allow me, I will be here to help you. My goal is to help you transcend difficult life experiences, symptoms of depression and anxiety, and regain a sense of ease, peace, emotional balance. I work with individuals and groups in-clinic and on-line (via Skype) with a cognitive-behavioral, mindful, accepting, non-judgmental, and compassionate approach.
I specialize in cases that other therapists shun from, including severe anxiety, depression, teens and adults with emotional disturbance from abuse (psychological/physical/sexual abuse) or neglect; borderline personality disorder; psychotic disorders, self-harming behaviors, and suicidal ideation/behaviors. I conduct psychotherapy in both French and English.
I have a longstanding personal, clinical, and research expertise in mindfulness based approaches (including MBSR, MBCT, DBT, and ACT). I have been trained at Concordia University, at the University of Montreal, and at Harvard University. I am currently a professor at McGill University. Montreal Mental Wellness Clinic's Groups
Mindfulness/Compassion/DBT Group
The group is 8 week long (2 hours weekly), the maximum number of participants in a group is 8. The group focuses mindfulness, acceptance, compassion, non-judgment, and other DBT skills (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). The components of the treatment are: Emotional regulation; Embodied Mindfulness; Embodied compassion; Mindfulness in interpersonal relationships; Compassion in interpersonal relationships. The practices include among others: Meditation on the breath; Meditation on the emotions/sensations/thoughts; Loving-Kindness meditation; Compassion-based practices. The sessions will include also teachings and group-discussions about a variety of topics, some will be also tailored to the needs of the participants.
