I believe that therapy should be a place where we find unconditional acceptance, are held in a positive light, regularly gain insights, and can voice our thoughts and feelings without fearing criticism or shame. I support individuals with depression, anxiety, histories of trauma, abuse and neglect, struggles in their family and personal relationships, career or life path challenges, and who are experiencing tensions related to their identity, culture, gender, and self-worth. I help couples to find increased safety, connection, warmth,and hope again after feeling lost in patterns of conflict, disconnection, betrayal and confusion.
I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals and couples, an attachment-based modality that supports trauma, self-esteem, and healthier communication and connection in relationships. I also offer somatic and attachment-focused EMDR, a powerful and evidence-based modality for addressing past traumas, anxiety, stress, and depression.
I am a lifelong learner, and bring a holistic approach to therapy informed by many years of studying indigenous healing practices in the Amazon, visual art, meditation and yoga, and am passionate about healing and mental health. Therapy takes time, commitment and courage, and I am honoured to support others to grow, overcome challenges, and heal.
