In my practice, I work with adults struggling with various issues from anxiety, depression and eating issues, to trauma, grief and relationship difficulties. We all have our own history of experiences, and we tend to react in specific ways under stress. While our response was likely our best option in the past, it may not be adaptive now. I can help you resolve past traumas, learn to accept what is, and move forward from there - developing ways to a fuller and more satisfying life.
While my early background was in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I now rely on Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 1 trained), EMDR (certified practitioner), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These tools provide me with excellent skills to help you get to know yourself better and work together to alleviate your symptoms at the source.
Working with these methods to identify and modify deep seated beliefs of worthlessness or helplessness - sometimes in just a few sessions - leaves me feeling very enthusiastic and blessed to be working in the counselling profession. This is a really exciting time to look for healing, as we are learning more and more effective ways to claim back our health.
