Love doesn't always look gentle or feel like being cared for. Maybe it was a parent who was never really there. Or a break up you still haven't gotten over. Here's the thing — loss, or even the threat of it, has a way of dragging up everything already sitting underneath: family patterns, wounds, trauma you didn't ask for. A death, an estrangement, a relationship ending, or caregiving for someone you have a complicated bond with — it all counts. Your $h!T is upside down, and there's a reason you can't shake it. These histories shape you. You're not who you'd be without them, and pretending they didn't happen doesn't undo them.
I work with people carrying complicated histories with the people who raised or loved them — estrangement, distance, cultural or generational gaps, grief nobody else recognized as grief. My approach is relational and somatic — we don't just talk, we bring the body in, other ways of knowing, because some of this doesn't untangle from thinking alone.
Sometimes what is broken or lost in relationship can heal through relationship. I'll be here to support you to the other side of whatever you're facing. You are NOT too much.
