The world can feel scary — relationships, your own thoughts, actions you don't understand. You might dissociate, get stuck in patterns you can't explain, quietly believe you're not lovable, or answer "I don't know" more than you'd like to. Or maybe you're navigating this with your child — the tantrums, aggression, tuning out, big feelings with no clear reason why. Either way, none of this means something is wrong. It's a nervous system doing what it learned to do to survive. My work helps you understand why you (or your child) do what you do, so the messy, confusing parts make sense.
I work with adults and children, using nervous-system-informed somatic work, and expressive and play therapies — building your capacity to notice what's happening in your body, connect it to your emotions, and tolerate big feelings instead of shutting down. For children this happens through play therapy; for adults, tuning into your body's own wisdom.
As a trauma-focused therapist, my work is grounded in Polyvagal Theory and Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy. I work through a decolonizing, anti-oppression lens — trauma doesn't happen apart from the systems that shape a nervous system. I bring compassion, deep clinical skill, and years of specialize training, so you're in capable, attuned hands.
