Mitchell is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta with over 10 years of experience providing therapy and assessment for children, teens, adults, as well as and their families. He specializes in life transitions, as well as assisting his clients in dealing with the physical and emotional pain of various trauma that had been exposed to. In order to address his clients' needs, Mitchell uses an eclectic approach which, among others, incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
Mitchell completed a degree in Psychology at Concordia University of Edmonton in 2009 before obtaining a Master's in Child Clinical Psychology at the Univeristy of Windsor in 2015. In addition to being EMDR certified, he has additional clinical training in therapy and assessment from the Psychological Research Centre in Windsor, Ontario.
In his approach. Mitchell adopts a Person-Centered approach with CBT and EMDR strategies. He emphasizes a discovery-orientated approach with his clients as they explore their inner world and use their strengths to achieve a higher level of independence and congruence. In this way, clients are able to achieve the goals they have set for themselves.
