Welcome to Ottawa's therapy and training centre focusing on issues of concern for men and their families. Comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals, we have opened the doors for men seeking personal change. Our services are specifically designed for men and are professionally facilitated by accredited psychotherapists. We tailor our individual programs to specifically meet men's needs in a way that speaks to men. Individual and group therapy. Goals such as living a life of integrity, calmness and connectedness. Men & Healing's Groups

Men & Healing - Trauma Recovery - Phase 1 & 2

Men & Healing Phase I is a short-term, therapist-led group counselling program designed for male survivors of childhood sexual and/or physical abuse. Its purpose is to begin men on their journey of trauma recovery through essential psycho-education, coaching on the recovery process, and mutual support. Phase 2 is a long-term process group program aimed at deepening the recovery process through guided discussion, experiential exercises, and group support. Clients can sign up and renew 10-week cycles of group sessions. 4We offer one Phase 1 group and three Phase 2 groups to choose from.

Anger Management

This ten-week group therapy program is offered for men who wish to resolve problems either at work or at home due to problems associated with their anger and rage. Participants will benefit from the following program objectives: detect cognitive distortion, implement self-talk, identify pre-violence cues, utilize time outs, become assertive, develop emotional literacy, increase empathy for others, reflect on unresolved issues of anger from the past, identify emotional triggers, implement techniques of self-care and stress management, maintain appropriate interpersonal boundaries, understand the connection between anger and depression, addiction and other compulsive behaviour Assessment interview require.

Emotional Intelligence

This ten-week, renewable group therapy program is offered for men who wish to explore issues of emotional sensitivity, expression, and interpersonal conflict resolution. An equal emphasis will be placed on emotional awareness as well as skills development. Participants can expect to receive awareness and skills training on such issues as: Problem solving skills & conflict resolution techniques, Trust building,, Listening skills, Emotional first aid, Articulation of difficult feelings, Assertiveness, Masculinity, emotional constriction, Interpersonal boundaries, communication skills, Empathy training, Emotional self-monitoring techniques ,Cognitive restructuring. The curriculum will also be shaped by participant feedback. Assessment interview required.
