My approach is tailored to the needs of each individual. I emphasize the importance of a strong, compassionate therapeutic relationship and work primarily from a trauma informed, client-centered model. I incorporate elements of emotion focused, narrative, dialectical behavioural, internal family systems, parts work, attachment, strengths/resiliency based, and somatic approaches. I primarily work from a process oriented place by working on issues brought up in the moment and spending time breaking down the beliefs, emotions, and behaviours that accompany each issue.
Our feelings hold messages we need to hear. If we ignore them, they keep popping up and create more issues in our relationships, work life, school life, physical health and self esteem. In therapy, we create space to understand and hear what these feelings are telling us as well as develop skills and access insights that make navigating life easier.
You can expect a warm, genuine, relaxed and non-judgmental approach, someone who will be in your corner throughout our time together. The client/counsellor relationship is the most important part of this process, so it’s my goal to create a space where you feel safe and supported.
