Couples sometimes need help communicating or understanding their relationship dynamics.
I strive to be a source of empathy and clarity as a therapist. I want to help people gain insight into the thoughts, feelings and behaviour patterns keeping them stuck, and to figure out ways to move forward. Increasing your sense of accountability, recognizing the opportunities hidden in setbacks and setting realistic goals are all part of the journey.

I believe our intersecting identities — race, culture, gender, and sexuality — profoundly shape how we navigate the world, our relationships, and, most importantly, our relationship with ourselves.
My approach to therapy is rooted in deep curiosity about the self, connection, and the stories we carry and tell. I’m particularly drawn to conversations about identity exploration, navigating relationships and life transitions, and managing stress in a world that often asks us to shrink or conform.

I have over 15 years of counselling experience regarding a variety of experiences including loss, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, health issues, life cycle changes, relationship and communication difficulties, and navigating the life long journey as a parent.
Throughout life we encounter circumstances that contribute to distress and overwhelm, and a hope for things to be different. I believe that change is always possible. I believe all feelings, such as sadness, pain, anxiety, anger, joy, and love serve an important function and provide us with information about ourselves and what we need. I recognize the complex roles of family, community, history, and culture contribute to who we are, what we feel, and how we cope.

I believe that quality work comes from a good therapeutic relationship, a good connection with the client, when therapy is done from a place of curiosity and respect and meeting clients where they are at emotionally.
I believe in empowering my clients to make positive changes and live a more fulfilling life. Sometimes we have a hard time connecting with our loved ones, we feel stuck no matter how hard we try. I work with couples in trying to help them express their needs, respond to their partner’s needs in order to learn new ways of emotionally communicating.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While the need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
