I work in a person-centered, feminist, and mindfulness approach in person and online (my home base is Winnipeg,MB) where I gently assist my clients in walking through past experiences to understand how it impacts their life today and sometimes challenge client's thoughts by reframing them together.
In life, we'll experience uncomfortable feelings, abrupt changes, endings, feeling stuck and helpless on how to navigate things we weren't ready for and I'm here to normalize although this journey isn't perfect asking for help is an example of true strength and self-awareness. I primarily work with young couples and young adults managing issues such as relationships, emotional abuse, unresolved childhood trauma, social media, family relationships, school, career and, burnout issues.

I offer trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and body-oriented/somatic psychotherapy that seeks to support and honour all aspects of one’s being. Often we have had to push away or hide parts of our self and our experiences. All the while, we continue to carry these unprocessed emotions and beliefs that weigh on our mind, heart, body, and spirit. In session, we’ll work together to create a non-judgmental and empowering space to be present with these parts of you, and in the process help you gain new insight, skills, and transformative experiences that could not be accessed before.

Have you ever felt like you have to take on the world alone? That your needs are less important compared to the needs of those around you? It can feel overwhelming to try put yourself first when you learned that it was unsafe to do so. If you have ever felt like you stretch yourself for others, wondered to yourself when will I get a break, or you have felt like you haven't had anyone in your corner, I get it. I aim to create a space where you don't have to pretend. You can say what you're feeling and thinking, even the parts you're afraid of and be supported along the way. We can navigate the messy parts of being human together.

We often carry the weight of our experiences in ways that no longer serve us, whether it's the pressure to perform, the residue of past trauma, or patterns we feel unable to change. My practice is built on a simple belief: understanding the context of your struggle is the first step toward changing it. Having spent over 15 years in the corporate world, I bring a deep, practical understanding of how high-pressure environments impact mental health. I now help individuals unpack the burdens of burnout, anxiety, and trauma to find a more grounded path forward.

I have additional training in CBT, DBT, CFT, SFBT, Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model, & Mindfulness Based CT
Teens are naturally wired to look for and try new things. Sometimes trying new things and searching for independence can be a step towards helping teens find purpose in their life. I have been working with adolescents, teens, adults, and families for over 20 years. I began my career working in schools with many neurodiverse students, supporting them and helping their families advocate for the services they needed and overcoming the barriers that often stand in their way. From here I moved to the role of a guidance counsellor where I found my passion helping many preteens and teens overcome obstacles in their lives.

Say it aloud: I am calm, confident, and I have choices. And yet, if the loud, all-consuming voice in your head keeps repeating “not enough,” even as you manage career, family, and social expectations, you may find yourself coping in ways that don’t feel like you. You’re not being dramatic. That’s your inner critic. While it once tried to help, it’s now fueling impulsivity, self-doubt, and overwhelm. I’m Rachelle Bauer, a Canadian Certified Counsellor and health coach. I work with women who are ready to let go of impulsive coping strategies, understand their inner critic, and unravel the beliefs keeping them stuck and unsatisfied.

Welcome, I'm glad you're here. Seeking support to navigate life's complexities is a courageous first step in your mental health journey. Have you thought about how a satisfying sex life fits into your goal of overall health? In therapy, sex is often overlooked - yet it’s part of your identity and your intimate relationships and contributes to your physical, emotional, and mental health. As a member of both the queer and ENM communities, I understand the feelings associated with not ‘fitting in’ with society’s messages about what is ‘normal.’ I have insight and empathy into the unique ways sexual health can impact one's life.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Counsellors
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
