I am a registered Psychologist Candidate (C. Psych Cand.) with the Psychological Association of MB. I work collaboratively with clients to regain balance in their lives using evidence-based treatments. Therapy can be used in many different ways: to process emotions and trauma, to increase mindfulness and understanding, to learn new skills to cope with challenges, as well as to gain perspective or advice. Some common presenting concerns I work with in therapy are neurodiversity (ADHD, ASD), anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, perfectionism, emotion regulation, sleep, parent coaching, trauma, mood + suicidality, among others.

"Better communication" is how most people summarize their therapeutic goals for a reason. It can seem like an impossible task to feel understood by others. I am deeply committed to comforting and guiding individuals and couples who struggle with the internal and external conflicts that result from feeling misunderstood. I facilitate improvements in communication with an approach that streamlines the process of therapy by identifying and working on eradicating these issues from their foundation.

Wai-Han (慧娴) is my name. Wai: wisdom; Han: elegance. Born and raised in a shame-based culture, from a young age things were spoken over me that were the opposite of this, that I did not measure up to my name. I experienced the power of words- that they can speak life or death- for me evoking self-rejection. Through my journey toward healing, spoken words brought liberating life to me. Thus, I am passionate about speaking life into people’s lives, even while they struggle with depression, anxiety, or challenging relationships. I love seeing individuals find more internal freedom, and feel empowered & in control of their experiences.

Taking Clients Again. Are you going through a transition and feeling overwhelmed and thinking "Now What'? Anxiety and depression are experienced by approximately 1 in 15 people and they often go hand in hand. I come to my private practice with education, my own experience in transitions, as well as helping many others. I also come with compassion and caring because the sadness not knowing what to do next and feeling alone can be scary and overwhelming. I have fifteen years of experience working with individuals suffering from the "Now What?" question resulting in anxiety, grief and depression. First step is hardest - call.

Therapy is as much about learning as it is about "un-learning". I'm passionate about supporting people to identify, challenge and replace their self-limiting stories (i.e.: "I'm not good enough", "I don't belong", "my needs don't matter") with more adaptive and affirming beliefs. With compassion, skill, and a healthy dose of humour, I invite people to get curious about the parts of themselves that feel stuck, lost, reactive, or broken. By befriending these parts and honouring their survival strategies, they inevitably learn to soften the list of "shoulds", judgements, and fears.

The global pandemic has changed our lifestyles over night. Our stress levels have intensified and problems appeared in some of our relationships. I believe that each person has a huge amount of strength and internal resources to help us deal with life’s problems and stresses.

Life's challenges can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and others. Our mental health thrives on trusting relationships, and therapy provides a safe space for healing. Together, we can address emotional wounds, transform negative patterns, and build connections rooted in presence and love. Therapy helps us rediscover our purpose, align with our values, and reclaim our sense of autonomy. Healing fosters resilience and healthier relationships while empowering us to embrace equity and inclusion. With support, personal growth extends outward, shaping more connected communities.

Suzanne specializes working with anxious and active youth to improve emotional identification, regulation, and communication skills. She has an interest in supporting the parent child relationship. Suzanne believes in a child centred approach and aims to build connection, belonging and trust through play, activity and creation. She also knows relationships are a necessary foundation when working towards desired goals. First sessions are always booked in office but getting outdoors with youth is a natural transition in Suzanne's practice. There is so much to be learned outdoors!
