I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families challenged by anxiety, depression, trauma, loss and grief, addiction, parenting, child sexual abuse, disabilities and conflicts in relationships.
I believe that humans have inner strength. With awareness, insights, and honing experiences, we can strive towards authenticity, integrity and meaningfulness in our life journeys. It can be through actualizing self-agency with acceptance and making choices.

By uncovering, discussing and appreciating them we will assist clients in the process of changing their relationship with the problem.
***IN PERSON AND ONLINE SESSIONS AVAILABLE. Our work has been informed by a number of different therapeutic models. In the last sixteen years we have been dedicated to integrate Narrative Ideas and Social Justice models into our practice. In those conversations that happen in our offices, people can reclaim their own preferred stories and re-define themselves by centering on stories that don't restrict their lives to the definition that the problem imposes on them. It's in the core of our work to believe that people that seeks for counselling come to it with a number of skills, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities.

I work with people who feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt, overthinking, shame, depression, or anxiety—often shaped by traumatic experiences or difficult relationships.
I’m a Master’s-level therapist in clinical psychology, supervised by Dr. Darek Dawda. I have expertise in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and other mood struggles. I also offer assessment for ADHD, PTSD, and other psychological disorders. In a safe space, we’ll explore the feelings beneath these challenges and work toward meaningful change.

This can manifest itself as substance use, unhealthy coping, dysfunctional relationships, or mood instability.
The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

I work with people navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, major life transitions, and feeling stuck.
My style is warm, relaxed, and collaborative. I pull from approaches like CBT, DBT, MI, and trauma-informed care, but more than anything, I focus on building a relationship where you feel safe and understood. We’ll work together to explore patterns, build coping skills that actually fit you, and strengthen the parts of you that are ready for change.

For those who are struggling with their connections with themselves--anxiety, depression, trauma; or with others--marital distress, family conflict we provide a space that allows for exploration towards a better life. We value story. We love to laugh when life is funny. We aren't perfect, but we live real lives, and we work hard at our craft to give you the best experience possible. We each know the feeling of struggle, vulnerability, and that feeling of, "I don't know if I can do this. I don't know if I'm enough."

It can be that you are up against a challenge and need support, you might want to make a change in your life or relationship, maybe there is a pattern you see in yourself or in your relationship that you don't think is working well.
I love conversations that question and deconstruct dominant societal perspectives. My hope is to create a space where conversations can consider how sex, identity, gender, race, privilege and oppression, all intersect. With this in mind I encourage clients to come to therapy with the expectation that it is your experience and voice that gets to be explored.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
