You’re caught in a cycle of overthinking and emotions you struggle to fully feel or name. Your body often feels disconnected, tense, or uneasy, and life frequently feels harder than it should. You aren't doing the things you know you "should". You wonder—is it stress, hormones, neurodivergence, or something else? You don’t have clear answers, just a persistent sense of overwhelm and being out of sync. You want to quiet the mental noise, reconnect with your body, and find a compassionate way to feel more balanced, grounded, and in control in your daily life.

I offer comprehensive assessments for ADHD, as well as assessments for PTSD, trauma, mood, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, as well as screening assessments for ASD.
Therapy can be used in many different ways: to process emotions or trauma, to increase mindfulness and understanding, to learn new skills to cope with challenges, as well as to gain perspective or advice. Some common concerns I work with in therapy are ADHD, ASD, anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, perfectionism, emotion regulation, sleep, trauma, and mood.

“In my early professional years I was asking the question, How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” I am truly inspired by this quote from Carl Rogers, an American psychologist and one of the founders of humanistic psychology. In my private practice, I adopt a strengths-based perspective/solution focused approach while helping clients strive toward their personal growth. I am a registered social worker with over twenty years of experience helping clients navigate through life’s many challenges

I work with clients who may be struggling with ADHD, Depression, Addiction and Anxiety.
The stories we tell ourselves influence how we perform in relationships, view ourselves, & make sense of our worldly experiences. I use a narrative approach, which is effective in helping process topics such as: trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, depression, & family of origin challenges, amongst others. My experiences have provided me with an in-depth understanding of how social justice issues like: racism, gender discrimination, sexual orientation, ability & such impact us.

Sometimes it feels like you’re just moving through the motions of life, staying busy yet feeling anxious when you finally slow down. Maybe you notice brain fog or a sense of disconnection. Maybe you’re doing so much, and yet it still feels like not enough. If this sounds like you, I want you to know your feelings are valid. On the outside, life might look okay, but inside you might feel tired, unfulfilled, sad, anxious, or overwhelmed. It’s okay to make a big deal out of what feels big to you. You deserve a safe place to pause, reconnect, and do the soul-searching that can bring more clarity, healing, and balance.

Reaching for help is a brave step. Whatever has brought you to this point, has likely taken a toll. Life stresses build up. Unresolved conflicts and traumas keep showing up and cause recurring issues. You notice patterns: the same argument, or same worry, the same relationship dynamics. Previous efforts to fix the problem have only brought temporary relief. You are tired of feeling this way, of fighting, of feeling alone... You want someone to help you get to the root of the issue and bring some lasting change and resolution. It's my honor to walk alongside you.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
