Do you feel rejected by friends and family by the smallest tone change or cancellation? Are you tired of overthinking and spending too much time 'upstairs'? My clients struggle with some or all of the above and I work with them to understand and work through those thoughts and feelings.

I walk with youth, men, couples, and families who are ready to look honestly at what's not working in their lives, whether that's relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, addiction, burnout, low self-esteem, or something else entirely.
Drawing on evidence-based approaches, I help clients explore the stories holding them back, connect with their strengths, and build healthier patterns in their lives and relationships. I also bring 10 years of experience as a pastor, which shapes how I hold space for questions of meaning, identity, and spirituality alongside the practical work of change.

Despite all the information about mental health and wellbeing, its common to be overwhelmed and lost with our own mental health. Each of you are unique and deserve a customized approach. I invite you into my space to find compassion, insight and clarity. Together we will set goals and a plan for meaningful change.

I have worked as a therapist for the past 25 years and come to this work with a depth of experience. I know the importance of finding a space to discover and nurture the hopes, potential and strength in each of us. I am able to offer a number of strategies and tools to manage issues in life - however - I have learned over the years, that one of the most important aspects of counselling is based in the understanding that we all have a sense of what we want in our lives but not always knowing how to get there.
I offer counselling sessions virtually - over the phone or on FaceTime.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
