About
I am a Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist of California. My therapy is founded on Client Centered therapy which holds the belief that people are fundamentally good and have a desire to fulfill their potential and become the best people they can be. I use Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focus therapy, and other approaches in my therapy. I provide individual, adolescent, couple, family, and group therapy in English and Japanese. I obtained my M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Lewis & Clark College in Oregon in 1999, was licensed in California in 2006 and am practicing Psychotherapy in Toronto.
I specialize in culturally competent therapy. I have experienced many adjustments by living in multiple different cultures as a student, worker, and a mother. I help people who have issues in adjustment/settlement in a new culture, inter-cultural relationships, parenting in a different culture and so forth.
I also specialize in the issues of adoption, attachment and trauma. As a mother of two adopted children, this is my passion to support adoptive parents and adoptees that were affected by trauma. I would be honor to accompany your journey to loving relationships, confortable self-identities, and peaceful life.
