About
When you become aware that your protective system is not letting you live the life you want to lead, therapy helps unburden the parts that keep you stuck. Through Internal Family Systems therapy you can get to know your inner system of protection, distraction and inner freedom. Protection may be anxiety, anger, depression and distraction may be numbing, dissociation, addiction and procrastination. You learn that some of your protection is based on what worked in childhood but is no longer serving you now. With couples I focus on learning to become relational through the work of Terry Real's Relational Life Therapy.
My work is based on inner insight. My approach to therapy is non-pathologizing: all systems make sense when you become curious and learn to listen to your inner system. The approach is somatic and mindfulness-based. You will learn to be aware of your inner reactions with compassion rather than judgment, and understand that there is no badness in you.
I believe that the way to a balanced and content life is through getting to know our triggers that take us away from being connected to the wisest part of our self. When we become curious, we learn what our reactions are protecting and learn to unburden our system. Your communication with your family with improve. I am here to help you on your journey!
