I work with children, youth, and families on journeys of exploring gender identity and sexual orientation. In addition to holding space for the specific processes related to identity, I support clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns, navigating relationships and social situations, "coming out," and coping with other life challenges. I use a flexible approach that can involve individual, family, youth, or caregiver sessions to best suit the needs of each client. I aim to meet clients wherever they are at in their journeys, and support the direction they would like to move towards.
I offer affirming counselling services through the lens of a trained therapist who has lived experience as a member of the 2Slgbtqia+ community, and professional experience supporting this community. I am actively working to maintain an anti-oppressive practice that is sensitive to the diverse needs and experiences of each individual.
Regardless of how you identify, I hope to be able to provide a space where you can feel validated and valued in a therapeutic relationship. I know it can be particularly difficult to find a therapist who can reflect some of your lived experiences, and while I can never truly understand YOUR journey, I would be honoured to support you along the way.
