About
I recognize that it may be difficult to speak to someone about your concerns - know that my job is to listen and help but never to judge. I work with children, teens and adults, to support all of life's challenges ranging from behavioural concerns, low self esteem, lack of confidence, suicidal ideation, self harm, anxiety, depression and life adjustment. I enjoy parent consultation and family therapy, and have experience in both counselling and assessments (adoption, mental health and psycho-educational assessments). I use behavioural coaching, CBT, EFT and narrative therapy to support my clients, as well as play and art methods.
I have many years of experiencing working with children, teens and adults with diverse abilities and complex needs, and have worked as a Custody Supervisor, a Support Worker and an Employment Mentor prior to becoming a psychologist.
When working together, I hope to bring my passion for life, enthusiasm and compassion to every session. Come as you are, and you will be accepted. When not in the office, I fill my bucket by attempting to walk every street in Calgary, crafting, and exploring dog parks with my hyper pup Sansa. Please email me at mary@southportpsychology.com
