I treat trauma - childhood, shock (eg. accidents, medical) and relational (eg. betrayal, bullying) utilizing IFS and EMDR. These models are experiential, not "talk therapy". I also offer Clinical Supervision. I have additional training in treating those suffering and addiction, their family members and adult children of alcoholics. Often, people impacted by addiction - their own or someone else's - carry the heavy burdens of shame, anxiety, low self-esteem and other extremely painful legacies. Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR allow clients to explore unconscious patterns or "parts" that may have protective roles, but which have become extreme and unhelpful, eg. rage, compulsion or hyper-vigilance. Gottman Method effectively teaches couples how to communicate and respond to each other in ways that resolve conflict and increase intimacy.
