Clients tell me I’m calm, curious, and compassionate—a patient, friendly collaborator who helps them find insight, connection, and direction. I'm a good fit with people who sometimes feel a bit “different” or want something a bit different in life. Like most, I am somewhat wounded myself (and relatively comfortable with it), and that helps me connect with people experiencing loneliness, anxiety, depression, feelings of day-to-day boredom and restlessness, and (perhaps especially) existential angst.
Rather than sticking to a specific approach or planning sessions around interventions, I work-play with clients in a more organic way that is grounded in psychoanalysis (the “talking cure”), inclined to behaviourism (“just do it”), and driven by my belief that therapy is at least as much about being there for clients as it is about doing things with them.
I'm calm at heart but sometimes experience anxiety. A striver who likes doing nothing, a thinker who enjoys action. A student of life—mainly “passing,” sometimes “failing,” always trying. Counselling is more a calling than a job for me, and I believe my life experiences have helped me become a caring healer. I’d love to connect with you. www.markmajewski.ca
