I have been working with people suffering from BPD and difficulties regulating emotions in clinical settings and private practice for over a decade now. I have also worked extensively with poly-substance and behavioural addictions, clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, age, and socioeconomic status, complex PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, LGBTQ, and Sex Addiction. I have worked closely with Veterans, struggling with decades of combat trauma, victims of human trafficking, loss and grief. I have acquired this experience not only in individual and group setting, but also working with couples in outpatient and inpatient setting.
I believe in a client centered, multi-modal approach. I have experience utilizing DBT, EFT, EFT for couples and complex Trauma, Exposure therapy, Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness modalities. In my work, I also include our "hardware", or the physical body and the physiological manifestations of emotion as well.
I, in collaboration with the client aim to find the balance between the areas in which they want to introduce change and those that they have mastered by bringing compassion to every interaction we have. Only tender care leads to healing on their path of building a life worth living.
