In strengthening our capacity for self-compassion we can begin to better understand the origins of challenging feelings such as guilt, shame, anger, regret and sadness. My approach focuses on the practice of self-compassion as the key pathway to psychological flexibility and meaningful change. Through the self-compassion lens, I will walk alongside to help you identify how behaviours, attitudes and beliefs may be negatively impacting your life. I believe that the therapeutic process can be creative and life giving. When self-compassion and acceptance are present we can truly begin the process of change.
My goal is to help you develop a sense of inner safety and peace as a way to strengthen your capacity to move forward from painful life experiences. With over 23 years experience in trauma work, my expertise lies in supporting individuals through complex life transitions. I offer curiosity, optimism, problem solving skills, insight and compassion.
You may wish to attend therapy with short term goals in order to address an immediate problem, or you may consider therapy a longer-term process. Whatever you choose, the effectiveness of therapy relies on the strength of the relationship between you and myself as therapist.
