Life can be challenging. Perhaps you feel anxious, hypervigilant, mistrustful, and panicky while your thoughts race as you struggle to concentrate. Maybe you may feel empty, flat, numb, and disinterested in previously enjoyed activities. Most confusingly, you may bounce between them. Whether experiencing one or more, these symptoms are the lingering legacy of trauma. Working with a wide range of individuals, including but not limited to education providers, first responders, health care workers, peace officers, public service employees, and support staff, my goal is to assist you in moving toward a brighter, more optimistic future.
As a retired secondary school teacher and department head, I believe knowledge is power that can lead to a deeper insight into ourselves and our experiences. Therapy is one avenue towards this knowledge via a rediscovery of oneself. How do we do this? Through emotionally-focused internal, or parts, work.
