I have specialized in working with children and teens for over 15 years because they deserve to work with an expert. I believe that their problems are real, and that they are capable of solving them. Frankly, they are also a lot of fun to work with! I don’t work with a child or teen in isolation, though. I also work with the parents because they are a crucial part of their child's progress. Therapy is not just a chat. It is a purposeful and structured conversation designed to highlight clients’ strengths, skills and values and to help clients figure out a way forward. I am passionate about my career, and I love what I do.
My approach is individualized because each client is unique. I focus on how my clients want to feel, think and do better, and I support them in taking the steps that will make this possible. With my youngest clients, I integrate activities like drawing, games, puppetry, story-telling, and role play into the conversation so they are engaged in our sessions.
After an initial phone consultation, I can usually book a first session within a week. Sessions are by videoconference which means my fees can remain accessible. It also means they are an easy addition to your family’s schedule. We can meet at times that are convenient for you, there are no traffic hassles or parking fees, and the waiting room is your home.
