You may have grown up feeling unsafe, unseen, or responsible for other people’s emotions. As an adult, this can show up as a harsh inner voice, chronic anxiety, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. You might feel exhausted from holding it together and wonder why things that seem easy for others feel so hard for you. These are common responses to trauma and abuse, not personal failures. Therapy can help reduce shame, increase emotional regulation, and support you in feeling more grounded, present, and connected.
I offer trauma-informed therapy for adults impacted by trauma and abuse. Therapy is a collaborative space to explore how your experiences shape your relationships and daily life. We will build self-compassion, make sense of protective patterns and gently work through difficulties using a variety of therapies, such as EMDR, at a pace that feels right for you.
I know that reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating. If you are looking for a trauma therapist who is compassionate, grounding, and brings warmth and a bit of humour into the work, I invite you to visit my website to book a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit.
