Individuals carry a large load of worries and responsibilities on a daily basis. The weight often becomes overwhelming over time and will interfere in our ways of thinking, feeling and dealing with life challenges. Some of the goals in psychotherapy are to move past the feelings of anxiety and hopelessness and to gain mastery in what may be perceived as unresolvable initially. For many, psychotherapy also contributes in developing a happier and more meaningful life.
My specialties as a clinician draw from diverse fields and practices in assessment and treatment in psychiatric contexts, colleges and universities, sports, and forensics. I have gained my experience through teaching, supervision, research with adolescents and adults. I also developed a model of crisis intervention that is widely used today in training.
Both my personal and clinical inclinations underline the importance of developing a strong connection and sense of trust with the client. No progress can be greater than within the context of a strong relation which allows the work of two competent people to flourish.
