With EMDR, you focus on a trigger or trauma paired with bilateral stimulation (eye movement/tapping/tones), leading to a reduction in the vividness + emotion associated with the incident. EMDR is an evidence-based treatment for triggers and trauma that follows a well-defined protocol but leaves room for flexibility.
