"Saath" Panjabi women and men social group
This group appropriates the need for culturally sensitive mental health support to Panjabi women and men in and around Edmonton. This group aims to raise awareness of addiction, domestic violence, parenting, self-care, navigating different roles in personal and professional lives, family dynamics in traditional families, empowering families through education, awareness, and healing. We use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness. CBT is a structured, time-limited, problem-focused, and goal-oriented form of psychotherapy. It helps people identify, question, and change how their thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs relate to the emotional and behavioural reactions that cause them difficulty in their lives.

International Students Support Group
Being an international student, I experienced a sense of freedom, growth, and progress but also experienced the loss of family, friends, culture, and identity. This time can be a time of confusion and loneliness, but we can grow, heal, and progress together. This group aims to provide a safe space for students to think, feel and express their lived experiences. We talk about stress, homesickness, discrimination, bullying, gender bias, time management, balancing social and personal life, and dealing with the responsibilities of adult life.
