There are moments in our lives where we feel stuck or moments of crisis where we have done things that we don't feel ok about. We may be living with persistent fears, thoughts, and behaviours that frighten us, or no longer align with who we are. We may experience difficulties in our relationships or trouble managing the world. We may suffer from current experiences of harm and violence, the wounds from our past, or repeating patterns and behaviours that no longer serve us. In these moments, it’s important to have a space to process our fears, pain, and our hopes while building skills, self-compassion, and a vision for ourselves.

At times of overwhelm or crossroads, we can feel so lost or alone that any effort to reach out feels impossible. Let alone to do therapy which can take a look at things that cause pain, isolation, or despair. Yeah, sign me up for that asap.?! But instability may interfere more than is bearable and relationships, work and self-care can seem unmanageable. We all need a place for ourselves at times like this. A safe place to decompress, access our experience and voice, and sift through what we've been going through. Growth and change can arise from places we left unattended, neglected or misunderstood for a long time.

Relationships shape so much of how we experience ourselves and the world around us. Whether you’re coming to therapy on your own or with a partner, many of the challenges people face (anxiety, low mood, grief, stress, or feeling stuck during a life transition) are deeply connected to how we relate to others and to ourselves. I work with adults (individuals and couples) who are navigating the “problems of daily living.” My clients are often managing relational concerns, emotional overwhelm, changes in their lives, or patterns they’d like to better understand.

I work best with reflective adults who sense there may be something deeper beneath what they’re struggling with. You may feel anxious, low, disconnected, or emotionally stuck without fully understanding why, repeat painful relationship patterns, carry old hurts into the present, or feel unsettled by a life transition. Many people come to therapy wanting something more than symptom management. Together, we slow down and look beneath the surface so confusing feelings and patterns begin to make sense, allowing for a steadier, more grounded sense of self.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist. I trained at TCPCE and the Gestalt Institute. My particular psychotherapy focus is on relationships, parenting, teens, and individuals confronting challenges in a relationship with a partner, child or parent. These primary connections in our lives can be both demanding and fulfilling. It is frequently those closest to us who evoke our most intense emotional responses. I define "people in relationship" as couples, siblings, parents/children, co-parents, divorced people who are connected by children or other factors, etc.

Our comprehensive DBT program is committed to providing compassionate & effective treatment for individuals who may experience intense emotions (such as anxiety, depression, anger, shame, guilt), impulsive behaviours (such as self-harm, suicide, stealing, substance use, risky behaviours), & stormy relationships (which could look like switching between pushing people away & clinging to them, challenges with saying no). We also offer trauma treatment through Prolonged Exposure-DBT and/or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) because many of the current day experiences, emotions & views of the world, are based on previous experiences.

Grief. It's a word heavy with emotion that often brings up images of loss, sadness, and heartache. But grief is so much more than that. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that is inevitable at some point in life. When we think of grief, we often think of the loss of a loved one. While undoubtedly a significant kind of it, grief can take many forms. It can be the witnessing of another's pain, loss of a job, a relationship, a dream unrealized. It can be the end of an era, the closing of a chapter, the diagnosis of life-altering illness, and the shattering of expectations. No matter the form it takes, grief often feels deeply isolating.

You might be a parent stretched thin — worn down by your child's struggles at school or home, or by the quiet erosion of your own relationship. You might feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed in a way that's hard to name, longing for something to feel different. Or you and your partner may keep landing in the same argument, drifting apart, unable to break the pattern. Whatever brings you here, you're ready for something to change.
