Work can feel hard, but it shouldn't cost you your mental health. I'm a former corporate high achiever turned therapist, and I get what you're going through. The people I work with have one thing in common: they’ve been holding it together for a long time. On the outside, things "look" fine. But inside, they're struggling, because work has become overwhelming.
They may be burned out, anxious about their job, dealing with a difficult boss, recovering from a layoff, reeling from an upsetting performance review, struggling with a toxic culture, or on stress leave because the pressure became too much.

I offer a warm, creative, down-to-earth approach that is client-focused and collaborative. I work from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive framework. I believe in bringing light and air to the parts of ourselves that need time and space to emerge. In our increasingly fragmented world filled with smart phones and doom scrolling, we could all use some good old-fashioned connection. I bring a deep curiosity about the ways we move through the world, the stories we tell ourselves and how our relationships are affected.

I work with people who are feeling stuck either through the result of a recent event or due to long-standing issues that are now causing distress. Many of the people I work with struggle with anxiety, substance use concerns or have a history of trauma. Some of my clients are looking for short-term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions while others have tried brief therapy and are looking for longer term psychodynamically oriented treatment to make change at a deeper level. Sometimes people don't have clearly defined goals for treatment other than they want to feel better. That's okay.

I am a Master of Social Work, psychotherapist, and Dietitian. For over 20 years, I have specialized in helping individuals and families to successfully move beyond the effects of a range of mental health and dietary challenges including eating disorders. Our journey together is paced as we attend to mental health, emotional, &/or eating management skills-building needs. Along the way, it is often necessary to identify "taken-for-granted" thought patterns, emotions, and behaviours that no longer align with your evolving life goals. Together, we rebuild your skills, confidence, hope, life, and important relationships.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and finding someone you feel comfortable with is an important part of that process. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where you can feel understood, be yourself, and work through life’s challenges at your own pace.
I admire the courage it takes to make changes, grow, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we can build on your strengths and develop tools to navigate stressors and obstacles with greater confidence.
With children and teens, I utilize art, play, and other creative approaches to help make therapy engaging, comfortable and promote self expression.

Parenting is hard; the lived experience of a child/youth can be hard too. Sometimes, understanding each others' perspectives can be challenging. My aim is to bridge this gap and help families work together, rather than against each other. Thinking about how you can enhance your family's overall mental health? Consider how therapy can support your family in moving towards positive change. A non-judgmental and outside perspective can help your family really listen to each other, consider differing perspectives in a new way, and offer unique strategies to direct you towards your goals.

I've been both the client and the therapist, and I believe strongly in the power of the therapeutic connection. It is an hour just for you; a space to find your voice, understand yourself, gently get out of your own way. I offer a relationship built on trust, curiosity, and open dialogue, where everything is welcome and nothing is off limits.
My style is direct and playful, warm and honest. I bring compassion and challenge into the room, and especially enjoy working with clients who are ready for change, even if they don't know what that looks like yet.

Constant thoughts that persist even when you try to distract yourself; doubting your decisions or second-guessing yourself; feeling guilty for not doing “better” and wondering how others seem to have it together; avoiding people, situations, or opportunities you wish you could enjoy; and feeling drained or exhausted, sometimes before the day has even begun.
In today's fast-paced and connected world, anxiety can make life feel overwhelming. Our thoughts and emotions feel magnified and start interfering with everyday activities. Before you know it, you find yourself spending more time managing anxiety than actually living your life.

One might be looking for therapy to gain deeper insight into themselves and perhaps to safely and kindly unpack hardship and vulnerability. Social Work Psychotherapy, can provide insight into the internal world (emotional, psychological, physcial, spiritual, mental "self") and how the internal world has been influenced and shaped by the external world (family, friends, society). At times we can be in search for making sense of ourselves, and our journey - and perhaps to be ready to address difficulties and tenderness.

You may be someone who appears to have it all together, yet inside, you often feel stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected—from others or even from yourself. You may find yourself caught in the same patterns in relationships, weighed down by emotions you can’t fully name, or carrying pain from the past that hasn’t been resolved. You might have tried to figure things out on your own, but something keeps resurfacing—grief, shame, anger, or confusion. If you’re looking for a deeper understanding of yourself and lasting emotional change, I invite you to reach out. This work is about you—your inner world, your story, your becoming.
