Do you feel ready to finally take control of your life? I am a compassionate, client-centered psychotherapist, working with adults and couples experiencing mental and emotional challenges in their life. In my training as a therapist, an NLP and hypnotherapy coach and a yoga teacher, I have come to deeply respect the integrative nature of well-being, and work with my clients to facilitate the kind of change that can be felt in mind, body and spirit. It is my goal to assist others in creating profound shifts through awareness and integration, and it is my honour to come along on their journey of self-discovery.

Anxiety can paralyze us. Strong emotions can turn our lives upside down. One sentence expressed in a moment of anger can lead to many moments of pain. Being human has never been an easy experience. In the context of COVID, war, and financial hardship, being human has become exceedingly difficult for many. In our attempts to move forward, many of us rely on strategies we think ought to work, but in fact make things more complicated for us. In the midst of strong emotions, we try to avoid the situations and people that lead us to these experiences.

My practice focuses on helping people who are facing challenges during difficult life changes, such as dealing with anxiety and depression. I take pride in assisting individuals through important stages of life, such as transitioning to post-secondary education, entering adulthood, and becoming parents. I also have a lot of experience supporting those with eating disorders. My research for my dissertation focuses on understanding the needs of caregivers raising a child with an eating disorder. Finally, as an amateur performer myself, I have a particular passion for working with amateur and professional performers.

I believe that the challenges we face are inherently political. Internal struggles are connected to oppressive structures across generations. It is natural to feel hopeless, anxious or afraid in a world that is unjust and working against us. I support BIPOC folks of intersecting identities who are feeling alone in these injustices. We work together to understand how our past experiences and present environments impact our wellbeing. I can support with topics related to family dynamics, relationships, diasporic identity, queerness, and self worth.

Are you experiencing ongoing difficulties in your daily life as a result of traumatic events you have endured? Do you struggle with self-esteem, attachment issues, emotion regulation, or a sense of identity? Symptoms of trauma can include anxiety, depression, hypervigilance, and intrusive memories, as well as difficulties with trust, intimacy, and relationships. You might not identify as having experienced trauma, but I’m confident in saying that we all can identify with experiencing some of the above. If this feels true to you, know that your not alone and I am here to help.

Life is worth living even as we face pain. Therapy can be hard work and change is possible. Two opposite ideas can coexist. I am committed to compassionately walking with you as we peel back the layers of opposites hidden within your story. I am curious where the journey will take us and am convinced that for you to share your story is courage & for me to be entrusted with it is privilege.

What is blocking you from being present and fully experiencing joy? What patterns are you stuck repeating, and why? These are questions many of us need to explore at some point in our lives.

I work with people who are feeling stuck either through the result of a recent event or due to long-standing issues that are now causing distress. Many of the people I work with struggle with anxiety, substance use concerns or have a history of trauma. Some of my clients are looking for short-term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions while others have tried brief therapy and are looking for longer term psychodynamically oriented treatment to make change at a deeper level. Sometimes people don't have clearly defined goals for treatment other than they want to feel better. That's okay.

Thank you for being here! I work with adults who may experience emotional and behavioural difficulties. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, OCD, depressive disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, racial trauma, grief and loss, and other relational problems. I also work with those who have experienced childhood trauma. In my work, I consistently and sincerely acknowledge the importance of the transgenerational impact of acculturation on our beliefs, worldviews, and sense of self. I genuinely believe that we are not broken, so we do not need "fixing;" instead, we work to be the self we want to be!
