Therapy can be a helpful way to work through those parts of life where we feel alone, held back, powerless, in pain, or silenced. At the centre of my approach to therapy is the belief that there is wisdom in your experience. I will invite you to open into that wisdom to help you better navigate your life. I believe in working with you to develop goals, and approaches to those goals, that fit your life. Through deepening understanding and facilitating emotional processing, my intention is to help you thrive in your life with self-compassion, flexibility, and confidence.

Are you a queer, trans, or neurodivergent person dealing with the hurt of discrimination, rejection, or the feeling that folks around you just don’t understand? Maybe you struggle with trauma symptoms, dissociation, anxiety, depression, self-blame, or low self-worth. It can be hard to get up the courage to come to therapy only to feel like you have to explain the basics of your identity to your therapist. Worse yet, it can be scary to seek therapy when the field of psychology has historically tried to keep us from being our authentic selves.

I work with individual adult clients who are interested in exploring new ways to understand and meet the challenges in their lives. My approach is psychodynamic: meeting weekly, through in-depth dicussion in a supportive relationship, we focus on better understanding patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, both conscious and unconscious. We consider early life experiences and how they have shaped your sense of self and ways of relating to others. I see therapy as a mutual effort, between therapist and client, to better understand someone’s anxieties and struggles, and to support them in figuring out what they want.
