As a therapist, I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples, as they develop resilience and build strong relationships. I use a mind-body approach that combines intellectual understanding with somatic awareness to empower clients towards a deeper understanding of themselves and others. I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment in which exercises are paired with relaxation so that my clients receive tools and techniques to carry with them into the everyday challenges of their lives.

You may have landed on this page because something isn't feeling right. You may be feeling anxious, depressed, or stuck. Perhaps, you’re struggling with finding your voice, exploring your identity or trying to navigate the intricate terrain of emotions, trauma, and loss. In a world that moves at a relentless pace, understanding who you are is paramount. In therapy, we will look at who you are, what you want, and what you need to thrive. We also look at your story. Some stories are created to keep us safe and offer us protection. Other stories paint a picture of who the world told us we were rather than who we authentically are.

What do I really want? and--how am I going about NOT getting it?
These simple questions stand at the gateway of personal freedom.
Overwork, addiction, anxiety, depression tell us that we have turned away from life's important questions.
Therapy can help. More than just relieving symptoms, good therapy allows us--with time and courage--to see our problems as opportunities, and to discover what's really important--living life with a sense of freedom and possibility.

Most people come to therapy to find answers or deal with the realities that they cannot understand or accept. A therapist's job is to unravel the threads of multiple, mostly negative, conversations going on in the clients' minds and explore them together. Sometimes, just the validation, presence and security of being with a safe person lets the client heal. I help people with emotional, relationship and mood disorders. My approach is open, engaged and client oriented. Every client whom I see brings his own unique worldview and we explore it together.

Are you frustrated, confused, tired and maybe even lost? You find yourself standing in front of your goal, and yet, it doesn’t feel like you’ve arrived. You look around and wonder, “Who am I, did I take a wrong turn somewhere?". You’re surrounded by strangers and you don’t even recognize yourself, because you spent your whole life hiding parts of yourself to fit in and creating new parts to fit in. It turns out that your goals may have been fueled by survival, not desire.

In therapy, we deepen our understanding of how lived experiences and interpersonal relationships inform who we are. When this understanding is awakened, we can increase our self-acceptance and self-empathy. Therapeutic change isn't about changing who you are. It's about forgiving yourself, accepting yourself, and caring about yourself, so you can transform your relationship with your inner self and the world around you.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
