About
Experienced Ph.D. level registered psychologist, practicing in Calgary since 1987. I enjoy helping motivated individuals in therapy. I combine clinical training with personal authenticity and sensitivity to diversity and socialization influences on how we handle what we are facing. Effective therapy is collaborative and empowering, with therapist and clients working together to make positive changes towards the clients' goals. This may involve learning to self-soothe, anti-depressant behaviours, and homework between sessions. Good therapy builds on strengths.
My Ph.D. in clinical psychology plus professional development prepares me to help people through a change process to deal with depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, and effects of trauma or abuse. I work comfortably with people of different gender identities and sexual orientations.
My approach is that I'm responsible to put myself out of business with each individual or couple by providing resources and teaching skills that create and maintain positive change; improve problem-solving; and increase resiliency to future challenges.
