I’m a Registered Social Worker with 30 years+ experience. I was a Clinical Coordinator in Mental Health for many years and have experience in group therapy and private practice. I use resilience oriented, trauma informed engagement and a solution focused, strength based approach with mindfulness, body-based self regulation and compassionate inquiry.
As much as we want change, we often resist the very change we need. Your part in this process is crucial to your healing. You need to actively make constructive use of treatment as a resource for change which involves developing an attitude of compassion, forgiveness and non-judgment toward yourself - sometimes that can be the hardest part.
