I help people who have experienced trauma to heal their hearts and ease their minds. I have worked with people from very diverse backgrounds and experiences, as well as with a range of professionals including NRP officers, ER nurses, and immigration lawyers. Using the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (ITATM), I am able to offer elements of a variety of evidence-based counselling services, in this layered, sensory rich approach. This incorporates elements of DBT, CBT, bi-lateral stimulation, mindfulness, somatic work, grounding activities, drawing, and meditation.
The ITATM protocol is effective in all forms of trauma and extreme states of stress. It is not uncommon that I will see clients with complex traumas which can include: sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, domestic violence including narcissistic abuse, sexual assault, traumatic loss, grief, attachment trauma, and abortion.
Trauma impacts not only our minds but our bodies as well. Although we can't take away the experience, we can definitely change the way the experience impacts us. The goal of trauma therapy is to integrate the thinking brain with the emotional brain in order to move beyond our traumas in a healthier, productive way.
